Q. Does anything unusual happen when teaching outdoors?

We do weekend afternoon Pilates workouts and enjoy a brief happy hour afterwords to relax from the workout and spend a few minutes getting to know our classmates. It’s a fun energy that builds friendships and encourages continuing with individual fitness goals. I find that personal time and attention really pump up the class. It’s so fun!

Q. What do you feel are the mindful benefits of being outdoors?

It helps everyone in the class relieve stress and I love the sun and breeze on my face. I feel a deep connection with nature.

Q. What services do you offer outdoors?

We have outdoor Pilates classes of various types in the pleasant weather months. We mix all sorts of Matwork into the circuits. They are very popular. If we have inclement weather outdoors or it turns cold, we have alternative indoor locations and covered locations in the event of rain. The weather never holds up our Pilates classes.

Q. What services do you offer outdoors?

Our studio provides a truly unique experience as we have a large of beautiful parks where we meet for outdoors Pilates. We offer group training, private sessions and courses in both Matwork and Reformer. Our members love the opportunity to train outside, since many of them spend their days at their desks indoors. Our locations are easily visible by our Pilates Pop-Up flags. There is plenty of parking and our class locations are just a few steps from your car. We have alternative locations if the weather is not cooperating.

Q. What kinds of props do you use outdoors?

We use them all! From Mini Stability BallsFitness Circles®Toning BallsFlex-Bands®BOSU® Balance Trainers, and Ankle Tubing – you name it!

Q. Does anything unusual happen when teaching outdoors?

Because we are so close to nature we often have special drop-ins who just see our flags and come on over. About Pilates Pop-Up Our ambition is to offer the highest standard of PILATES training while providing a place for like-minded people to meet, gain inspiration and recharge their energy. Check out stunning photos of our classes and studio in our website www.PilatesPop-Up.com. You can follow @pilatespopup.dallas on Instagram.

Q. What do you feel are the mindful benefits of being outdoors?

I find that the sun helps you feel so good and lifts your mood! Plus, the sounds of nature, the breeze, the birds, are so relaxing. I find being outdoors the ultimate stress reliever.

Q. What elements from the outdoors do you use in your workouts?

I enjoy the beauty and solitude of the parks! Some students bring their kids and let them play at the park while they are exercising. As a parent, I find the parks a great place to sneak in some exercise in Pilates Class while my kids use the monkey bars (pull-ups), benches (step-ups), stairs (push-ups) and even the swings! It’s fun, which is such an important component in life.

Q. What kinds of props do you use outdoors?

Sometimes just the mat, other times KettlebellsFlex-Bands®Mini Handweights or a Mini Stability Ball. I like to keep things simple!

Our clients love the opportunity to take their Pilates sessions outdoors. This usually means that people leave the studios behind—we love that we can offer people the chance to maintain their pilates practice while still enjoying the beautiful weather.

Q. What do you feel are the mindful benefits of being outdoors?

Being outdoors allows us to leave behind the everyday distractions of life, and we are able to find a calm and inner peace. It isn’t all about being silent, calm and serene. The outdoors gives us an opportunity to take in the subtleties of life and revel in them.

Q. When I practice outdoors…

…I love the way the fresh airs feels on my face and in my lungs and the energy I get from the sunshine. The enthusiasm in the classes is infectious and the friendships formed are unique and treasured. We truly have a movement that feels much like a tribe.
